ABOUT THE CHEF
Above everything else, Kathleen Larsen is first and foremost a busy, working mother. Her hectic lifestyle makes it difficult to prepare three nutritious meals each day for her children, and this is where the inspiration to teach kids to cook on their own was born.

“I have eleven-year-old twins and I’m also a full-time working mom,” Kathleen explains. “Always having to be home and in charge of three meals a day was overwhelming. And the thought of my kids being able to cook for themselves was so enlightening and refreshing.”

Kathleen places a huge emphasis on teaching children that food can be both healthy and delicious. She takes in groups of four children from ages eight to eighteen and teaches them the basics of cooking, including prepping and how to use various cooking tools, such as a crockpot or a stove top safely. The best thing is that there is no cleanup, as she takes these groups into her own home! This is one of the best cooking classes for kids available in Boston, and it teaches the value of healthy cooking while also increasing independence in the kids who participate!
