Is this a chef demonstration or a hands-on class?

Our classes are interactive and hands-on, incorporating practical demonstrations to enhance the learning experience.

Is Selfup located in a restaurant or a commercial venue?

Selfup features a dedicated commercial kitchen used exclusively for our classes, fostering boundless culinary creativity.

Please be aware that our venue is a commercial kitchen and does not provide designated areas for entertaining children.

Please specify any dietary restrictions in the 'Special requests' section when booking your class.

What is the parking situation?

There are three parking garages within walking distance of our venue at 19 Kingston St in Boston:

For our New York venue, the closest parking garage is at 51 Beaver St. It offers valet parking services and is open 24/7.

I'm running few minutes late, is it ok?

A 15-minute reception marks the start of the event, providing a brief buffer for potential delays. If you arrive more than 25 minutes late, your ticket will be forfeited, and admission to the class will not be permitted.

May I bring my drinks?

Kindly note that bringing outside beverages is not permitted.

Do I need cooking experience to attend a class?

No cooking experience is required. Selfup classes are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to confident home cooks. Our chefs guide you step by step, so you can relax, participate at your own pace, and enjoy the experience regardless of your background.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for popular dates, weekends, and private events. Some public classes may still have last-minute availability, but planning ahead ensures the best selection of dates, menus, and group sizes.

What should I bring to a cooking class?

Just bring yourself and a great attitude. We provide all ingredients, equipment, and instruction. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are recommended. If you have any dietary restrictions or special requests, let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
