What’s Included in My Italian Dinner Cooking Class
Italy is known for picturesque landscapes, luxury brands, exceptional wine, the Renaissance, all the fantastical artists associated with that era, and–most importantly–Italian food.
Gelato, Tiramisu, Pasta, Pizza, and Caprese Salad are likely the first things that come to mind when you think of Italian food. The prominent use of tomatoes, fresh herbs like basil, and deliciously handcrafted cheeses is a not-so-hidden secret that defines authentic Italian food. Using ingredients such as these to elevate carb-loaded dishes and refreshing salads is the true Italian way. What’s even more Italian? Socializing with a group of friends and family over a delectable homemade meal while sipping on a glass of fine Italian wine. That’s exactly what you’ll experience at our Italian group cooking class at Selfup.
Our goal is to transport you to another time and place through the flavors of Italy, and that’s why we designed an Italian Dinner Cooking Class. Below is a detailed view of what you’ll experience at our team building class, so grab a napkin because you’ll be drooling after reading through what’s in store for you.
The Italian Dinner Cooking Class: What is Included?
Our team-building cooking classes showcase the authenticity of cultures around the world through the use of traditional herbs, spices, and ingredients. These group cooking classes are meant to be entertaining, inviting, educational, and fun for everyone–whether you are a self-proclaimed master or chef or have never even touched the stove. We encourage you to let loose and be yourself because this is the perfect opportunity to let your guard down, relax, learn, and bond with others.
Our Italian Dinner Cooking Class is composed of a few different parts, you’ll learn about the history and culture of Italian as well as the dishes you’ll cook, you’ll be schooled on the basics of pasta making, and how to make a 4-course 5-star Italian dinner, complete with antipasti, pasta dishes, main entrée, and classic Italian dessert to close out the night. The best part is, you’ll get to mingle with your group along the way and savor your creations as a group with a perfectly paired glass of wine! In total, our group cooking class is a three-hour course, and you’ll almost certainly leave with some leftovers to nibble on later.
Italian Dinner Components
To begin the Italian Dinner with Tiramisu Finale class, you’ll sit down with one of our favorite Italian chefs who will give you a brief rundown of the 4-course Italian dinner you’ll be crafting as well as some informative Italian historical facts. You’ll converse with your peers and introduce yourself, so you can break the ice and get acquainted before getting your hands dirty. Once the instructions have been delivered by the chef, aprons are on, and it’s time to get down to business!
Let’s break down the wide range of flavorsome dishes you’ll be preparing and, later on, devouring.
First up on the lineup is a Traditional Italian Salad–complete with fresh and juicy tomatoes, crunchy leafy greens, and a cheese basket that includes some salty Parmesan in solid form, and stretchy yet soft mozzarella balls.
After crafting the salad, you’ll learn how to make pasta dough from the ground up. You’ll knead, roll, pinch, shape, and form the flour and egg-based dough into three versatile Italian pastas–Fettuccine, Ravioli, and Tortellini. You’ll stuff the ravioli and tortellini with immaculately creamy cheese and pair it with to-die-for sauces that you’ll also make from scratch.
That’s right, everything is from scratch! After learning how to make the real stuff, anything else will be less than satisfactory. This newly acquired skill becomes a great talent to have on hand if you want to impress a lover, friend, or business associate.
Post pasta prepping, boiling, and sauce drizzling, you’re ready for the main course–Chicken Marsala. The combination of all three savory courses provides a huge flavor burst throughout the night and a nourishing trio that your taste buds and belly will thank you for. Chicken Marsala is an irresistible dish made with a rich and creamy mushroom and Marsala wine sauce. If you’ve yet to try it, you’re in for a real treat.
Tiramisu Finale
Last, but certainly not least, you’ll learn the ins and outs of crafting the perfect Tiramisu in all its rich and creamy glory. There’s always a separate stomach for dessert, right? Tiramisu is a classic and extremely popular Italian delicacy that you’ll find on almost every dessert menu in the country of Italy, and it’s no secret as to why. Tiramisu consists of a light and airy mascarpone cheese and espresso-soaked ladyfinger cookies to create a powerfully decadent and filling cake-like dessert that is sure to perk you up and leave you feeling cheery and full.
Believe it or not, Tiramisu is claimed to be an aphrodisiac, so if you’re feeling hot and heavy after dessert, you can attribute it to the melt in your mouth Tiramisu–which you can proudly say you made with your bare hands.
All the incredible Italian dishes you’ve made during your class time are then to be enjoyed with a glass of wine from a genuine Italian winery. Throughout the class, you’ll get to learn, chat, prep and cook, but the most rewarding part of the whole night is getting to sit down with your group and share laughs, bond, and converse with each other about how remarkable the food you just created is.
Is your mouth watering yet? Put your game face on and grab your apron because your taste buds are going on a wild journey during our five-star 4-course Italian Dinner cooking and dining experience at Selfup.
