If you’re not planning on making a trip down to Mexico any time soon but are craving the savory flavors of traditional Mexican dishes, don’t sleep on our group cooking classes focused on tried and authentic Mexican cuisine. Our chef will take you on a journey through time to learn about the origin of certain spices and dishes native to Mexico, which you will then prepare as a group in the kitchen and enjoy altogether over plenty of laughs with great company.

Our culinary expert will share his knowledge and exceptional culinary skills and teach you all you need to know and then some regarding traditional Mexican ingredients, utensils, complementary flavors, and dish arrangement.

The unforgettably tasty dishes you will prepare during class include Corn and flour tortillas, Chicken Enchiladas, Chicken Mole, Fish Tacos, Pork Tamales, and churros with the perfect crunch. This assortment of menu items is curated to help you experience the abundance of flavors and textures that Mexican food offers.

A bit about the dishes you’ll be making:

  • Corn and Flour Tortillas: simple ingredients of flour and masa harina–dried corn dough–and a dash of salt. Combine with water and shape dough into flat pancakes of perfection.
  • Chicken Enchiladas: made with a homemade enchilada sauce, fresh tortillas, and stuffed with chicken and cheese, garnished with fresh herbs. They are layered with a gooey melted cheese that makes for a flavor bomb in your mouth.
  • Carne asada street tacos: Delicious, easy, and authentic. Tender steak piled on warm corn tortillas.
  • Pork Tamales: create tender shreds of pork tucked inside corn husk tamales blended with masa dough tamales simmered in green or red chili sauces, which adds extra juiciness. You’ll steam tamales and serve them with a rich sauce and herb garnish.
  • Churros: to top it all off, you’ll end on a sweet note with crispy dough homemade churros that are lightly dusted with granulated sugar for the ideal dessert to close out a wonderful Mexican feast.

Cancellation and rescheduling requests can be made up to 48 hours before the event.

If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made less than 48 hours before the event, we can only issue a 50% store credit.
If a cancellation or rescheduling request is made less than 24 hours before the event, no refund or store credit will be issued.

Additional Notes:
Maximum number of reschedules for both private and public bookings is limited to 2.

All cancellation and rescheduling requests must be made in writing via email at All phone calls will be redirected to writing an email.

All events which have been rescheduled are no longer eligible for a cancellation. All events to which the guests are 25 minutes late or more will be considering a no show and the ticket cost will be forfeited by the client.
There will be no exceptions to these rules.
If we cancel a class for any reason, we will provide a list of similar times for rescheduling. If this does not suit the guest's needs, Selfup will provide a full refund.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a class due to unforeseen circumstances such as inclement weather, instructor illness, or low enrollment.
If a participant is unable to attend a class, they may transfer their registration to another person.

We did the Mexican Fiesta class with Carmen & Val. The class itself was informative, fun, & we feasted. The food was amazing, & the atmosphere was great. Carmen & Val were so patient, & went above & beyond in teaching us, as well as serving us in the end. They were so kind! They provided snacks between each course we cooked, as well as unlimited alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages. 10/10 experience, & we’re already planning on going back for the the other courses offered.
